rickastleyBefore we continue with today’s list, Tip Diva just wants to tell you that she is appalled at what Barack Obama said about minorities in the south. Okay, not really, but you have just been Rick Rolled. Want to Rick Roll someone else? Here’s how:

• Understand The Concept Of A Rick Roll - Rick Rolling (or rickrolling - the person that is tricked is either “rickrolled” or “rickroll’d”) is an Internet prank that started last year, where a person would link to what you thought was one thing, but was really linked to Rick Astley’s 1987 music video for “Never Gonna Give You Up” (see above). Rick Rolling could also be playing the song loudly as to disrupt an event, such as a Scientology protest. Even though the prank is a year old, it is gaining even more momentum today But before you start…
• Learn About Rick Astley - How can you Rick Roll someone without understanding the genius behind the song?
• When In Doubt, Just Break Rick Out - Rick Rolling is a great solution to any problem - even if it’s just to lighten the mood. Tip Diva thinks that the presidential candidates should Rick Roll American citizens and promise that they’re never gonna give us up, never gonna let us down, never gonna turn around and desert us.
• Target Unsuspecting People - The best Rick Rolling victims are the ones who least suspect it. But the great thing about Rick Rolling is that people don’t expect you to do it again - therefore leaving them susceptible to some more of Rick Astley.
• Hide Your Links - Since Rick Rolling started online, it’s a good thing to know how to hide links. To make a link, type your tricky subject here (which will look like your tricky subject here). To make it look like another URL, just put a pretend URL where the subject is. For instance, http://www.yahoo.com would look like http://www.yahoo.com. No Yahoo!… Rick Rolled!
• Be As Disruptive As Possible - Rick Rolling is not effective if people quickly ignore you. Make yours and Rick’s presences known.
• Sing Loudly And Dance - How could you not?
• Dress Like Rick Astley - Wear a brown trench coat and black shirt, or a blue shirt with jeans and some cool shades, like the Eastern Washington University Rick Roller. Bonus points if you have a bouffant.
• Record It, If You Can - Rick Rolling videos are hot on YouTube. Get in on the action while you can - the Muppets did. It’s so popular that YouTube actually Rick Rolled everyone one April Fool’s Day, when it linked all the featured videos on its home page to “Never Gonna Give You Up.”
• The More People You Involve, The Better - In the biggest Rick Roll to date, thousands of Internet fans were able to Rick Roll the New York Mets, and here’s how. The song was played during the 8th inning to lots of “boos.”

Monique - I’m quite surprised, but you’re not the only one! CNN wrote an article about it yesterday, so who knows if it’s going to surge again.

RWR - Thanks for the shoutout at your website!
