Sometimes, you’re too preoccupied with packing the perfect shoes or your Game Boy and forget to put essentials in your suitcase or carry-on baggage. Well, worry no longer - just print out this list and check as you go along:
- Bring Enough Money - Whether cash, credit cards or traveler’s cheques, make sure you have all essential currency.
- Pack All Relevant Identification - You’ll need your license or passport to get where you need to go. Also carry your health insurance, emergency contact and blood donor cards.
- Make Sure You Have All Essential Medication - From pills to inhalers, make sure you have what you need or the appropriate prescription for emergencies. Beware that you can have some difficulties getting certain medications elsewhere.
- Have All Of Your Reservation Information - Print out or write down all your reservation information, from hotels to car rentals. Note down the day you reserved the service and any applicable confirmation numbers. Also write down the services’ main phone numbers, in case you are running late and need to tell them.
- Pack Your Cell Phone - This is one of the easiest things to leave behind, but even easier is forgetting your cell phone charger. What good is a cell phone without a charger? If you do wind up forgetting your cell phone charger, ask the front desk at the hotel - many people leave behind their chargers, and if you have a popular model, they may have a charger that fits your phone.
- And Don’t Forget Your Computer’s Power Adapter - If you have to bring your laptop with you, it’s essential that you don’t forget your power adapter. Finding one to fit your computer is very difficult, and purchasing a new one can be expensive.
- Remember Your House Keys - Who likes to be locked out with a bunch of suitcases upon returning from your trip?
- Bring A Pen And Paper - You never know when you’ll need a pen and paper. You may want to jot down an address, phone number or even a license plate.
- Throw A Toothbrush, Toothpaste And Deodorant In Your Carry-On Or Purse - You’ll never know when you’ll get caught at an airport or lose your baggage. Keeping these essentials in your purse will assure you remain (somewhat) fresh.
- Carry Extra Underwear And Socks - If you end up in a situation mentioned above, it’s also good to have an extra pair of underwear and socks in your carry-on, just in case you need to change. Like your mother always told you, “Always wear clean underwear… you’ll never know what’s going to happen to you!”
